Strength Training is a method of improving muscular strength by gradually increasing the ability to resist force through the use of free weights, machines, or the person’s own body weight.
Pilates and Yoga Based Training
Pilates and Yoga Based Training
Pilates Based Training is designed for all fitness levels, optimizing joint mobility and stability through muscle strengthening and stretching exercises. This type of exercise focuses on the “core” to include the abdominal, lower back, hip and thigh muscles. We offer mat Pilates, and reformer.
Yoga Based Training incorporates Yoga exercises creating strength and endurance, improving circulation and energy flow, cleansing organs and other systems, and expanding muscles and joints. Appropriate for novice and intermediate clients.
Functional Training includes a variety of exercises that work on flexibility, core, balance, strength and power, focusing on multiple movement planes. Functional training attempts to adapt or develop exercises which allow individuals to perform the activities of daily life more easily and without injury.
Medically Based Training
Medically Based Training
Medically Based Exercise programs are built on sound medical principles to improve the health of clients with chronic medical conditions, including high blood pressure, diabetes, and arthritis. BodyCentric Fitness also specializes in exercise for neurological disorders including Multiple Sclerosis, Post Polio Syndrome and Stroke Recovery.
Pre-surgical Exercise to accelerate post-surgical recovery.
Post Rehabilitation Exercise programs are helpful to those who have finished their course of physical therapy but need to continue gaining strength and mobility.
Corrective Exercise to address and improve muscle imbalances and postural issues that affect musculoskeletal function.
Cardiovascular Endurance exercises improve the capacity of the cardiovascular system. This type of exercise involves the use of several large muscle groups which deliver oxygen to those muscles by the cardiovascular system.
High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) This type of training involves repeated, timed bouts of high intensity effort followed by varied recovery times to challenge you both aerobically and anaerobically.
Circuit Training is a method of physical exercise in which activities are arranged in sets using variety of exercise equipment and body weight. The participant moves quickly from one activity to another with a minimum of rest between activities. This continuous exercise provides conditioning to improve body composition, muscular strength and endurance, and cardiovascular fitness.

ACE, NSPA, Certified Yoga Instructor
Roxanne is a nationally Certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Leader through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and a Level 1 YogaFit instructor through YogaFit. She also holds a certification in Pre and Post Rehabilitation from National Strength Professional Association (NSPA). With clients ranging from 18-90 years old, Roxanne has extensive experience working with a variety of individuals with different goals and fitness needs. Focusing on form and technique, Roxanne is an expert at modifying a wide range of exercises that will help her clients become stronger, more flexible.
“Roxanne has been my personal trainer for four years since I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and out of fear, needed to do something about my physicality. She is caring, firm, thorough, knowledgeable, and just plain good at what she does. Muscle tone improvement, and increased bone density are due to her diligence and ability to motivate a just plain lazy person. I owe this all to her.” — George Winkel
BS, ACE Certified Personal Trainer
Amy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Wellness Education. She has been a certified personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise since 2002. With her clientele ranging in age from 35-75, she focuses her training on overall fitness and well being meeting the needs of every age group. She strives to maintain relationships with her clientele by giving them the highest quality instruction each and every time they meet. Several of Amy’s clients have been training with her for more than eleven years.
“Amy Augustin has been my personal trainer for well over a decade. She is wonderful. She keeps the sessions interesting by varying our workout and introducing new exercises. She is pleasant, very patient, and never critical. I broke my back, and when I try to exercise on my own I often end up in pain, but this is never the case when Amy directs my workout. I just have the good kind of sore that means my muscles have had a thorough work-out. I am lucky to know her.” — Marlene Payne
MA, ATC, VATL (NATABOC certified)
Lynn has been a certified Athletic Trainer for the last 27 years. She integrates her skills in the field of Sports Medicine and Exercise Science to provide medically based exercise instruction in a personal training setting. Over the course of her career, she has worked with a variety of athletes and non-athletes alike, from professional and Olympic athletes to older adults, helping each one achieve their goals. Lynn specializes in personal training for people with chronic medical conditions, preparation for orthopedic surgery and post-rehabilitation services. Many of her clients have trained with her for eight years or longer.
“Lynn has been my personal trainer for something like eight years. As luck would have it, during that time I developed spinal stenosis, went through a laminectomy and spinal fusion, developed neuropathy in both feet, and suffered other physical problems associated with the aging process. I am not sure what I would have done without Lynn’s patient and professional guidance and encouragement, but I am truly glad that I have had her on my side. I don’t like to exercise, but with Lynn’s firm guidance and support, I did and still do, regularly. There have been a couple of times during which I was unable to work out with her. I had to admit after the fact that I was sorry, because I could feel the difference in the way I felt when she wasn’t there to “encourage” me. In addition to her expertise as a trainer, she is a nice pleasant person to be around. She is a real professional.” — Earle W.
